Abstract

HALFPAP, Dulce Maria; SOUZA, Gilberto Corrêa de  and  DA MOTA ALVES, João Bosco. Robots as artifacts. Ciênc. cogn. [online]. 2007, vol.12, pp. 203-213. ISSN 1806-5821.

Robots are artifacts created by man. This vision has been presented since the earliest investigation of the role of the artifact concept in the evolution of human history until the development of specific artifacts, the robots. These were also pointed out in the humanity history as special artifacts that try to reproduce the human functions. In that effort, generations of robots were identified, which could better exemplify the development of the robots as artifacts in the human society, since its beginning until today. © Ciências & Cognição 2007; Vol. 12: ??-??.
