This work describes the theoretical principles that support the construction of learning objects, considering Ausubel meaningful learning theory. Dual coding theory points that learning will be more effective, when the transmission of information happens simultaneously through visual and verbal channels. The objective of this learning object is to make easy the construction of meanings, mainly the subject related to college science. We suggest the use of dual coding to minimize the cognitive loading and then facilitating meaningful learning.
