Abstract

SOUSA, Janara  and  GERALDES, Elen. The contributions of Karl Marx and Max Weber about of autonomy/non-autonomy of the science and technology. Ciênc. cogn. [online]. 2008, vol.13, n.1, pp. 163-174. ISSN 1806-5821.

How Marx and Weber had discussed the issue of science and technology? What were the contributions of these two authors for this theme? The proposal of this article is to investigate the science and technology under the aspect of autonomy/non-autonomy. However, our focus will be on two seminal authors for the Social Sciences: Marx and Weber. We bring the classics in the spirit of better understanding how the issues on our theme were treated by these authors, which certainly gives important clues about how science and technology are thought today.

Keywords : science; technology; autonomy; Marx; Weber; sociology.
