DE FREITAS FILHO, João R.  e  SILVA CELESTINO, Renata M. Cavalcanti. Investigation of the construction chemistry reaction concept from the previous knowledge and the social interactions. Ciênc. cogn. [online]. 2010, vol.15, n.1, pp. 187-190. ISSN 1806-5821.

This paper reports a research about the influences of previous ideas and social interaction in learning of reaction concept carried out with 1st grade of high school students of a public school. The didactic intervention involved distinct moments, encompassing audiovisual activities, experimentation, reading and writing of texts. Comparing moments of individual work with interactions situations we observed that the circumstances where interactions occurs, a greater comprehension of concept and how it enables abstraction and generalization was made possible whereas this did not occur in the situation where individual work was carried out. In that way, the analysis of the accomplished data indicates that the conceptual confusion manifested by the students has it is roots in the teaching process and learning and it interferes sharply in the quality of the teaching of chemistry Empiricist and confused descriptions and explanations predominated in the students' initial answers. After the group discussion, the students incorporated scientific discourse elements in their answers, and they could elaborate theoretical explanations for the observed phenomena. © Cien.
