Abstract

To perform well in team ball sports, the athlete needs to act contrary to predictability or adapt to the unpredictability of the game. Therefore, it is important to use the knowledge, perception and decision making. The athlete should know about your sport to resolve, through cognitive processes, the present problems in the context of the game, the resolution will be accomplished through a motor skill. This article presents a systematic review of the literature. It says on the importance of cognition in team ball sports and aims to show the differences between cognitive experts and non-experts, the different types of knowledge in the sport and models of cognition and action in sport. © Cien.
