Abstract

AVER VANIN, Aline. The (creative) construction of meaning: inferential processes and blending. Ciênc. cogn. [online]. 2010, vol.15, n.2, pp. 77-93. ISSN 1806-5821.

Abstract The aim of this paper is to discuss the inferential process of information in daily communicative exchanges, taking into account the proposal of an interdisciplinary interface between Conceptual Integration Theory (Fauconnier e Turner, 2002) and Relevance Theory (Sperber e Wilson, 1995). Both perspectives may complement each other in order to describe and explain dynamic aspects of meaning construction, considering the notions of blend, conceptual domains, context and inferences. © Cien. Cogn. 2010; Vol. 15 (2): 077-093.

Keywords : blending; inferences; blending; relevance theory; interfaces.
