Abstract

ANDRADE, Luiz Antonio; REIS, Liliane Bels  and  VIANNA, Beto. Corporeity, cognition and linguage. Ciênc. cogn. [online]. 2010, vol.15, n.3, pp. 33-46. ISSN 1806-5821.

In this essay we propose a link between the concepts of embodiment, cognition and language, from the point of view of systems theory within the explanatory coherences of the Chilean school of Biology of Cognition. It is thus central to our discussion, the distinctions made between the domains of physiology and behavior, between knowing and knowledge, offering a concept for the last, and between the linguistic domain and language, making explicit the consequences of these distinctions in the description of the living and human beings. Two discernible results of this interweaving of concepts and the distinctions proposed are: a) the direct implication of knowing and the co-ontogenic relationships (i. e., between ontogenic systems), as it is the case of the linguistic domain, in the dynamics of the living in general; and b) to propose a distinction of the human being from a particular way of living based on the practice of languaging and the co-construction of knowledge. © Cien.
