JANDIRA DOS SANTOS, Monica et al. Biosafety teaching and environment: an experience in the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation. Ciênc. cogn. [online]. 2011, vol.16, n.1, pp. 193-205. ISSN 1806-5821.

Abstract Aware of the importance of minimizing occupational hazards, Oswaldo Cruz Foundation held the First Course on Biosafety and the Environment in May/2010. 14 professionals took part in the course with a total workload of 60 hours, divided into three modules: (i) identification of risks, (ii) knowledge of resources to prevent accidents and contamination, (iii) measures to be adopted in case of accidents. This study aims to describe our experience in training human resources based on the Theory of Meaningful Learning and the ergologic approach. The model proposed by Kirkpatrick unable us to ascertain the effectiveness of the course in the first and second levels, reaction and learning, ensuring that the concepts on Biosefaty were incorporated to the cognitive structure of students. Results showed that the proposed teaching strategies used in the course and the possible assimilation of knowledge could therefore allow us to reflect the work process. In order to assess if the students are actually putting into practice what they seized in the educational environment it will require the deployment of the third and fourth levels of evaluation that includes performance and results. © Cien.
