This paper aimed to evaluate the knowledge of Pedagogy students upon the main concepts related to basic spatial geometry; identify comprehensive and relevant concepts to a meaningful learning; identify the inner conceptual structure related to the theme and organize learning material. It has also searched to identify some mental process related to a meaningful learning through discovery/exposition activities of discernments aspects in concrete material representing geometrical forms. The participants were six Pedagogy students of a public university. On the first part of the research a test was conducted asking names and description of the characteristics of the main spatial geometric forms. Later, it was elaborated a conceptual map that helped the making of potential meaningful material and a didactic intervention was taken throughout four weekly sessions. It has discovered that the participants hadn't formed the most elementary spatial geometric concepts and that the material produced for the intervention seemed to activate comprehensive concepts leading to a progressive differentiation and integrate reconciliation, which are important cognitive process to a meaningful learning. © Cien.
