Resumo

The article discusses the visual perception of the cultural identity of a regional product of handicrafts, seeking to understand the interpretation of the aesthetic and cultural values ​​added to the products. Thus, it was applied to a group of 16 graduates of the 4th year of Design at a university in Paraná state (BR), the tool Semantic Differential whose concepts were taken from the opposite visual techniques of the syntax of visual language. The graduates took time to point out which of the opposing concepts came closest to the projected image and the iconic plane in what was perceived. The result of this experiment was a pre-parametric analysis between pre and post-test and a transcoding of visual perceptions to spoken language from verbalizations of the message visually perceived by graduates. © Cien.
