The Fragile X syndrome is the most common inherited cause and the second genetic etiology of mental retardation more often, surpassed only for the Down syndrome. Although it responds well to the medication, it is necessary the concomitant use of other therapies and special education resources. This case study shows the results of a 10 year old student in dynamic assessment situation after twelve weeks of intervention using a cognitive educability program, the Bright Start Cognitive Curriculum. It is argued the viability of the cognitive educability program and the dynamic assessment procedures as more appropriate to people with developmental and learning problems.© Cien.
