To reach this goal, participants were fourteen (14) professionals of an occupational health team working in an intensive care unit for a minimum period of one year and who have had contactduring professional interventions in patients in a coma. The work is classified as exploratory and qualitative research and data collection used a questionnaire consisting of open and closed questions. At the end of this process 14 actions of health professionals were identified which refer to the interaction with patients in a coma through technical management only. Interpersonal management was present in three actions of interaction with patients in a coma. When questioned about the actions performed in the interaction with coma patients, most health professionals refer to technical management, with no mention of management interpersonal management. The interpersonal interaction with the patient in a coma allows stimulation and subsequent recovery of these patients. It is possible to demonstrate the importance of technical knowledge about the levels of coma, as well as psychological support to health professionals in order to facilitate the interpersonal management with comatose patients.© Cien.
