Abstract

MIRANDA, Francisco Arnoldo Nunes de  and  FUREGATO, Antonia Regina Ferreira. A projective instrument for social representation studies in mental health. SMAD, Rev. Eletrônica Saúde Mental Álcool Drog. (Ed. port.) [online]. 2006, vol.2, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1806-6976.

The authors describe and discuss the use of a projective instrument for collecting research data. Data were collected through drawings that associate sentences to the expressed images. The technical-methodological resource, called Technique of Daily Investigation-TSC, consists of sixteen drawings that focus on nurses’ daily work and occurrences at a psychiatric care unit. Using this instrument, the authors analyzed nurses' representations about the sexuality of mental patients as well as about daily psychiatric nursing work and its object of care. TSC is a methodological resource that makes it possible to capture social representations of daily nursing reality
