Abstract

BERNARDES, Elexandra Helena; PEREIRA, Maria José Bistafa  and  SOUZA, Nilzemar Ribeiro de. Integrality according to family health nurses. SMAD, Rev. Eletrônica Saúde Mental Álcool Drog. (Ed. port.) [online]. 2007, vol.3, n.1, pp.00-00. ISSN 1806-6976.

This study aimed to identify which conceptions Family Health (FH) nurses attributed to integrality in man’s perspective. It was carried out through a qualitative approach, using semistructured interviews with eight nurses working in FH teams in a city in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The analysis was guided by the thematic analysis technique. The results proved that, most of the times, integrality in man’s perspective was reported and understood in a memorized way, confusing and even distant from its original meanings, considering man as a machine. Only some statements revealed man as an integral and indivisible being, influenced by the relationship network he is constituted of.
