RIBEIRO, Elizabe tda Costa  y  CARVALHO, José Antônio de. The technical era and the ecological catastrophe under Martin Heidegger’s perspective. IGT rede [online]. 2012, vol.9, n.16, pp. 02-24. ISSN 1807-2526.

The present work targets the problem embodied by the ecological catastrophe that threatens Earth and man in his very survival, under modern technological clearing of nature as standing-reserve. In spite of a growing concern to the community of nations about the seriousness of the problem, all attemps to cope with this situation have been merely technological behavior. In this study alternatives to deal with that question are sought from the German philosopher Martin Heidegger thought, in a deviation from western society paradigma coming since Plato. The work is based on bibliographic research, includind writings of that philosopher, from some of his commentators and other texts of authors concerned with the present age and the environmental question as well.

Palabras clave : Modern technology; ecological catastrophe; Heidegger.
