This study aimed to consider the role played by the therapist in the therapeutic relationship from two approaches, Gestalt therapy and systemic social constructionist theory. For this, the first chapter mentions a history of Gestalt therapy with its main influences, have been defined the main relevant concepts to the theme of work as well as a description of the therapeutic process and how it understands the role played by the therapist in the relationship therapy. In the second chapter, the same points are covered in the systemic social constructionist theory, through a history and definition of its main concepts to think about the role played by the therapist in the therapeutic relationship. In the last chapter we make a discussion between these two approaches in regard to the role of the therapist, pointing out where they become similar and different.
