Building on the ECA, children and adolescents must be protected as a priority of any risk to their development. This protection of their rights should preferably be done while preserving their family. In this paper we discussed how to protect children while preserving the maternal bond / family in the situation where the neglect of the child / adolescent is committed by a mother with schizophrenia.
