This work presents the study on the contribution of Gestalt therapy in the Confronta-tion of the losses and the death.Death is an intrinsic and universal reality of human existence. The man in contact with the finitude has the opportunity to live fully and authentically, extracting of adversity great learning opportunities. However, this article will address the historical context of man facing death reporting how changes in funeral rituals were taking place throughout history. Introduce the steps of themourning process and the importance of the experience of feelings in full. Will discuss about the relevance of Gestalt - therapy in the acceptance of loss and death process.
