The objective of this article is to make an explanatory approach between the conception of chaos in ecological perspective (Evans & Wachs, 2010), and the concept of chaos and conflict - this is seen as a key enabler for strengthening of the self of the person - in Gestalt Therapy (Perls & Goodman, 1977; Polster, 2001). This explanatory approach between chaos, at the ecological approach and at the perspective of Gestalt Therapy, is supported by the Ecological Theory of Human Development of Bronfenbrenner (2011), which consists of a process of interaction between the individual characteristics of the person and the characteristics of the environment in which he is inserted, passing through four interrelated cores: process, person, context and time.
