This paper presents the play as a facilitator of the child's expression from the perspective of Gestalt therapy, through a theoretical study drawn from the literature review, document analysis and personal reflection. The objective is to reflect on the play as a facilitator of the child's expression. Think the play is to think the child's development in its entirety, as proposed by the approach of Gestalt therapy. In this sense, it is understood that it is in continuous relationship of the child with the environment that consists its development. The results provided the rethinking of playing a gestalt perspective, from the look and history of authors who contributed to the child psychotherapy, allowing understand it as a medium that facilitates the child's expression. The analysis of the phenomenon contributed to the field of existing knowledge on the phenomenon of playing in Gestalt therapy.
