Abstract

COSTA, Tatiane  and  BELMINO, Marcus Cézar. Polyamory: the institutionalization of monogamy sexual revolution Paul Goodman. IGT rede [online]. 2015, vol.12, n.23, pp. 424-442. ISSN 1807-2526.

Polyamory is a term that refers to the ability to establish multiple sexual-affective relationships concurrently, egalitarian and in a consensual manner, a marital modality that proclaims the primacy of love and not exclusively through institutionalized logics. This study aims to know the romantic ideals of the present time from the visions of romantic love and the distinctions between love and friendship and love and sex that are available to polyamorists. Used as interlocutor thought of Paul Goodman, an anarchist, literary theorist and critic of the American scene in the 1960s, covering discussions about human nature and anthropology on Goodman and his developments about the sexual revolution and repression. This research was conducted through a literature review of books, magazines and academic journals in circulation. It cannot be understood as an ultimatum about the selected theme, more over it adds contributions to the study about polyamory, verifying that the challenging emotional-sexual relationships of monogamous norm are increasingly common and visible, historically constructed as an alternative to relationships based on myth of romantic love. Although there is little published literature in the area and research on non-monogamous forms have been neglected by the academic studies.

Keywords : Polyamory; Paul Goodman; Monogamy.
