The present study demonstrates that the actuation of the Gestalt therapist is substantiated by philosophical and theoretical presuppositions and by the accuracy of the technique that make it capable to attend the central demand of the clients. In this case, the experience of the individual in his/her conjugal relationship and his/her connection with love. For its elaboration, we used the phenomenological method, qualitative research and descriptive goals. This article verifies that for a salutary relationship the frontier of the self and the not-self of the members of the couple lacks to show itself defined and flexible. It is considered that the professional in his/her therapeutic practice before the subject should be focused on enlarging the sense of self to enhance the positive potential of this, with the purpose to discriminate the contents: yours, your partner's and your conjugal relationship.
