Nicolau Machiavel's ideas, discussed in Il Principe (1513), influenced decisively in the initiative by Christie and Geis (1970) to develop an instrument able to evaluate the Machiavellian personality. This study investigates Machiavellianism, as defined for these authors and others, like Braginsky (1970) and Touhey (1977). The participants of this study were 10 street boys, without formal family reference; 20 working boys, that use the street as main or secondary source of income; 20 state school students and 20 private school students with ages between 11 and 17 years. The method consisted in the application of the Kiddie Mach scale, developed by Nachamie (1970). The results indicated that the street boys' groups and working boys present less Machiavellian personality than the group of the private school. Keywords:
