Abstract

RODRIGUES, Heliana de Barros Conde. The man without qualities: oral history, memory and modes of subjectivation. Estud. pesqui. psicol. [online]. 2004, vol.4, n.2, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1808-4281.

Based on the problematizations developed in the author's line of research the oral history as a tool for the construction of the history of Institutional Analysis in Brazil , the paper explores some concepts of memory that are compatible with objections to psychologisms and sociologisms, which constitute the dominant perspectives in this field of study. It falls back upon oral historian Alistair Thomson’s idea of memory-composition, showing its connections with the notion of modes of subjectivation, as proposed by Foucault, Deleuze and Guattari. This interference allows the formulation of hypotheses about the relationships among the practice of oral history, the forms of collecting memories and the creation, in the present, of alternative futures for subjectivations as well as theoretical and/or historical paradigms.

Keywords : Oral history; Memory; Modes of subjectivation; Institutional analysis.
