Historical rescue of Psychology in Maranhão, based in authors that conceive Psychology history as social production linked to the society historical movement. Psychology is shown as a knowledge area, considered as a historical production accomplished in a certain reality, establishing relations with different factors of political, social, cultural and scientific nature. Psychology in Maranhão history in shown, focusing its earlier times and the structure of ‘psy’ field.
