Abstract

FORMIGA, Nilton S.; ARAUJO, Thaís T. V.  and  CAVALCANTE, Carmem P. S.. The maintenance of the feminine discrimination in the brazilian context: a study on its trustworthly of the ambivalent sexism. Estud. pesqui. psicol. [online]. 2007, vol.7, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1808-4281.

The objective of this study went the one of evaluating to consistency it interns and structural of the ambivalent sexism inventory in two Brazilian contexts. This instrument, adapted by Formiga, Gouveia and Santos (2002) it is constituted by 22 items, answered in scale of five points, type Likert; theoretically it evaluates two factors: hostile sexism and benevolent sexism. Two samples, the first 257 subject of the general population of the city of Palmas; in the other, 287 subjects among general and university of João Pessoa population composed this study. The inventory was applied individually, in the streets of both cities; after getting the peoples' permission when approached the instrument was given. For that, the anonymity of the answers was guaranteed. The results confirmed, in the two samples, the existence of the two factors, as well as, its consistency interns, corroborating the studies Formiga, Gouveia and Santos (2002).
