Abstract

SILVA, Alessandro Soares da. Identification of adversary, antagonist feelings and political (in)efficacy in the acquisition of political participation consciousness: the case of Sâo Paulo MST (Movement of Landless Workers). Estud. pesqui. psicol. [online]. 2007, vol.7, n.1, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1808-4281.

This paper analyses how the identification of adversaries, of antagonist interests, and of political efficacy and inefficacy acts as dimensions of a wider process of political conscientiousness, arguing how these questions can determine the participation or not-participation in social movements or in collective actions. Data obtained in 2001 with rural landless workers camped at Pontal do Paranapanema, São Paulo State, were used as empirical basis for this work.

Keywords : Political conscientiousness; Political efficacy; Psychology of social movements; Agrarian social movements; Collective actions.
