Abstract

The Vocational Guidance (VG) had its origins in Industrial Psychology, for the necessity to select the people most able for the exercise of different functions that was created in the industries. It was gradually associating to educational orientation, being mainly involved in the continuation of the studies and occupations choice. We are accustomed to relate the VG as one practical restricted to schools and offices of psychologists. Currently, face to the technological modernization we attend a demand each day bigger the VG and Career Conseling in the companies. The objective of this study is to discuss the development of this activity in France and to raise some questions that could here be useful in the insertion of the vocational couseilors in the companies in Brazil, arguing the possibilities and difficulties of the performance of this function.
