Abstract

SIQUEIRA, Érica de Sá Earp. An opening of a psychoanalytic work in a public institution: ‘Márcia’ and the identification doubt. Estud. pesqui. psicol. [online]. 2007, vol.7, n.3, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1808-4281.

From an adolescent’s (Marcia) psychoanalytic treatment as an out patient at the ‘Núcleo de Estudos da Saúde do Adolescente’ we have focused on the practicability of psychoanalysis to take place in a public institution. Marcia has shown, from the start, a very clear demand on analysis. She herself, and not her parents, sought the clinic to be seen by a ‘psychologist’. We have verified, from the clinical case, the possibility of having an analytic work done in a public institution, in spite of all the difficulties and stalemates met by the psychoanalyst. The specificity and importance of the analytic listening in an institutional setting are demonstrated. We believe that the analytic listening in a public institution is something peculiar, where the psychoanalyst makes himself available to listen, from another place, pertaining to psychoanalysis, based on analytic transference
