The present study examines the expression of mourning in the Internet, more specifically in the site of relationships Orkut. Fourteen testimonies displayed in virtual communities that were created in honor of deceased people were analyzed. These testimonies were written by teenagers who had recently suffered a sudden loss. It was used two different approaches in the content analysis (BARDIN, 1991): the form of communication and the meaning of its content. It has been evidenced in the first one that the young did not only communicate directly to other members of the community but also to the dead person. Memories and expressions of affection were the main contents expressed by the deponents. There were also reports of how they were facing the period after-loss. These testimonies were characterized by the richness of feelings and sensations, beyond containing descriptions of the loss confrontation strategies. The study shows that this virtual nets consists an important field of study, especially in the psychology scope
