This article describes a methodological development in qualitative research applied to psychopathology and psychology. It presents the contribution of ethnography for the worldly phenomenological method as a merleau-pontyan base. It describes the worldly phenomenology as a critical method for research in psychology and psychopathology and explains why it invites or welcomes the contribution of the ethnographic method. It shows the anthropology of experience as an approach that focuses on the cultural understanding of the phenomenon under study. It finally highlights the limits and possibilities of the phenomenological and ethnographic methods integration.
