Abstract

CARDOSO, Claudia Lins  and  FERES-CARNEIRO, Terezinha. About the family: the community speaking. Estud. pesqui. psicol. [online]. 2008, vol.8, n.2, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1808-4281.

This paper argues questions about families that live in poverty context and about the public politics applied to them. It is originated from the project Insertion of the Psychologist in the Program of Family Health, developed in Vespasiano (MG), with patients with diabetes and hypertension that participated on the program. This paper intends to contribute to a major elucidation of the poor families experience from the perspective of their members. In order to do that, it shows narratives fragments of the participants of the therapeutical groups, developed in the project, whose aim was to investigate their family experience. It was clear the emphasis of the members on the inter-personal aspects of the family dynamics and on the quality of the relationships between their members, more than the emphasis on the structural characteristics, like those organization and operation styles, which where the features more pointed out on the literature about poor families.
