The psychologist's day commemoration in Chile is one of the most important milestones of psychology in Chile, which is repeated periodically every year, however, the date of the celebration was under discussion by a group of Chilean members of the Interamerican Society of Psychology. This document tries to explain some reflections and arguments about why we should celebrate the psychologist's day on December 9 and not on November 9, as it is usually realized. The argument tries to position from the empirical paradigm, from the historical evidence, more that to repeat a social act devoid of meaning and significance for psychology in Chile
