Abstract

MACCHIOLI, Florencia Adriana. Beginnings of family therapy in Argentina: 1960-1979. Estud. pesqui. psicol. [online]. 2012, vol.12, n.1, pp. 274-287. ISSN 1808-4281.

The research focuses on the beginnings of family therapy in Argentina, as from its formation and expansion within the "psy" sciences (psychiatry, psychoanalysis and psychology). It is aimed at studying the introduction, shaping and development of family therapy while dealing with the theories, practices and research carried out in the country, as well as its professionalization, institutionalization and connection with different disciplines. For such purpose, four groups are considered in this research: family-group, family-system, family-structure and family-multiple. These four groups outlined the speciality at a local level by the end of the 70's, when such field was institutionalized.

Keywords : family; psycotherapy; history; Argentina.
