Abstract

This article aims to present briefly the Theory of Senses of Self in Daniel Stern, as it is conceived and described in their work 1985/1995/2004 and 2010. Our initiative is based on the author raises questions that cast some doubt on the orthodox conceptions of development, proposing a different model for thinking about human development and its consequent effect on the organization of subjectivity. It is emphasized the development periods and pre-verbal modes of affective relationship that is developed prior to the update of linguistic competence, and intersubjectivity in its most singular expression. Among the main concepts of the author, highlight the amodal perception and affect attunement. Meanwhile, bring into question the privileged use of the verbal resource in the psychotherapy.
