The purpose of this article is to gather information from the PSI literature and to increase knowledge about adolescents in conflict with the law from the theoretical model proposed by Shoemaker. The article was divided into sections according to three levels of conceptualizing by Shoemaker: structural, individual and socio-psychological levels. It is emphasized that, for a better understanding of the offender's behavior it is necessary articulation and interaction with all levels of understanding proposed by Shoemaker's model. It emphasizes the importance of researching more specific data of the Brazilian reality.
