Pervasive Developmental Disorders have been receiving great attention from psychologists, especially cognitive-behavior therapists, in order to develop more efficient techniques that could be useful for the treatment of these patients. The objectives of this study are to introduce a description of the main disorders in this spectrum and present a cognitive-behavior treatment of an adult with Asperger Syndrome. The co-morbidities are very common among these patients; therefore the ones that were important will be briefly mentioned. The psychological treatment and special techniques that were used will be described, and limitations discussed. Some important aspects of the treatment were: the Socratic dialogue, the perception of pragmatic aspects of language, problem-solving and social abilities training, increase in empathy and broadening of interests, more adequate expression of emotions and recognition of others’ emotions, development of abstract reasoning, and attempts at making his thoughts and behavior styles less inflexible.
