Abstract

This article puts into evidence the impact of systemic thought and the web of complexity inside the contemporary world, up against the understanding of aging and the metacognition phenomenon in its intersection; proposing a clinical intervention. The link for a solution is a multidimentional and poliepistemic focus that makes a mediation between cognition, the vital cycle and social acceptance. From these ideas the metacognition intervention seems very important in facing the collapses caused by automatisms, a situation that is typical in old age, and which is potentialized in the contemporary world. This work shows the clinical application of a metacognition method step by step with an accompanying for all therapeutic sessions. The evaluation of the treatment’s efficacy is measured through a specific instrument called: Metacognitive Activity Inventory. Our innovation is the proposal of a clinical intervention. The intersection between systemic thought, aging and metacognition, synthesized in therapeutic action, maybe gives this study exclusiveness
