MARTINS, Pablo Fernando de Souza  e  LOPES, Ederaldo José. Relationship between personality, anxiety and mood disorders: a brazilian review. Rev. bras.ter. cogn. [online]. 2010, vol.6, n.1, pp. 85-107. ISSN 1808-5687.

Personality is one of the most intriguing themes in Psychology. It can be defined as a set of rigid patterns of feelings, thoughts and behaviors that distinguishes one individual from the other. The aim of this review was to describe how Personality has been approached in works on Anxiety and/or Mood Disorders that use cognitive, behavioral, and cognitive-behavioral therapy references. A research using PePSIC and SciELO.ORG databases pointed out that a considerable number of studies make no reference to the term Personality or makes it in a discrete way. On the other hand, three percent of papers correlated the terms Personality and Anxiety and Mood Disorders in some way in specific journals of cognitive-behavioral therapy. Thus, we can suggest that the difficulty in treating this Axis II disorder has been worsened by lack of knowledge produced on the subject, either for lack of interest among researchers or because of the methodological obstacles found in this field

Palavras-chave : Personality; Anxiety Disorders; Mood Disorders.
