MARTINS, Fabiane Silveira  e  FAUST, Giane Inês. Preventing bullying: Cognitive-Behavioral Approach based intervention. Rev. bras.ter. cogn. [online]. 2018, vol.14, n.2, pp. 113-120. ISSN 1808-5687.  http://dx.doi.org/10.5935/1808-5687.20180016.

Bullying is a complex phenomenon, characterized by intentional and systematic aggression that may negatively impact the development of those involved. Currently, the implementation of strategies to combat bullying in Brazilian schools is required by law. Some interventions are developed seeking to identify risk and protection factors, being important for a better adjustment of young people. One of the most used perspectives by interventions in school settings is the Cognitive-Behavioral Approach. This article aims at describing an intervention developed in a school to prevent bullying, based on the CBA, directed towards preschool and school children. The qualitative methodology, exploratory study type, was used and the sample was composed of students between 2 and 14 years old, totaling 1,632 participants. The most used strategies were the psychoeducation on bullying and emotions, relaxation techniques and social skills training. Several activities were carried out with students, families, teachers and school staff. The results observed were: systematization of a broad-ranging project on prevention, resulting in the development of a model primer for future interventions; definition of strategies based on the CBA, preparing teachers and students with different forms of bullying management and dissemination of the culture of peace.
