Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) is considered to be one of the leading disorders in the world. The goal of this study is to show the case of a young adult male with the diagnosis of SAD, describing the intervention based on the cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) without associated usage of psychotropic drugs. It also proposes to demonstrate which interventions can help in the treatment of social fear of eating in public and vomiting. The treatment consisted of 20 sessions in which used techniques considered fundamental in this kind of cases, such as: psychoeducation; gradual exposure and cognitive restructuring. The exposure initially was not effective, and was necessary the use of new strategies, including the insertion of formal and informal mindfulness practice , what helped the patient to improve their feeding concern, and paying attention to the body sensations of the feeding. The use ofmindfulness associated with other CBTs can be very effective. The results in the final evaluation demonstrated great improvement in the initial complaints, decrease in the social anxiety, in the safety behaviors and cognitive ressignification of his beliefs.
