Abstract

ANDRADE, Tânia Moraes Ramos et al. Online group intervention: online G10 experience report. Rev. bras.ter. cogn. [online]. 2021, vol.17, n.2, pp. 142-152. ISSN 1808-5687.  http://dx.doi.org/10.5935/1808-5687.20210027.

The COVID-19 pandemic negatively impacted the mental health of the population, causing increased levels of stress, anxiety and depression. Isolation and social distancing demand the use of digital media as an essential tool to enable psychological interventions focused on treatment, prevention and promotion of mental health. The aim of this study was to describe an experience report on the adaptation and feasibility of applying the G10 program online, during the period of social distancing from COVID-19. The sample consisted of 14 participants who underwent the evaluation of the DASS-21 scale, pre and post-intervention. The results identified a statistically significant difference in the Stress dimension (p=0.005), in which a reduction in symptoms was identified after the intervention. Equally significant results were observed in the dimensions of Anxiety (p=0.032) and Depression (p=0.028). The qualitative data obtained suggest the development, at the group level, of cohesion among group members around common purposes and feelings of belonging; and, on a personal level, coping strategies to deal with stressful situations and self-knowledge about values ??and character strengths.
