PORTA, Lucas Geremia La  y  CALVETTI, Prisla Ücker. Cognitive-behavioral therapy and emotional regulation to chronic pain management in randomized clinical trials: a scoping review. Rev. bras.ter. cogn. [online]. 2022, vol.18, n.1, pp. 94-103. ISSN 1808-5687.  http://dx.doi.org/10.5935/1808-5687.20220009.

Chronic pain affects 20% of the world population, causing significant economic and biopsychosocial impact. Cognitive behavioral therapies have presented evidence for treating chronic pain. OBJECTIVE: to investigate the scientific production of randomized clinical trials involving cognitive-behavioral intervention and emotional regulation in the treatment of patients with chronic pain in digital and face-to-face mode. METHOD: scoping review of the PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, PsycInfo, and Cochrane Central databases, conducted between May 2019 and February 2020, following PRISMA guidelines. RESULTS: 24 studies were found, 6 of which are included in this review. The most frequent outcomes were catastrophizing, pain management, depressive symptoms, affection, and coping. Most cognitive-behavioral interventions combined integrative approaches, especially mindfulness, in internet-based and face-to-face modes and included follow-up. The outcomes related to pain and affective- emotional aspects showed improvement. CONCLUSION: Internet-based and face-to-face Cognitive and behavior therapies showed evidence of clinically significant contributions to affective and emotional aspects of the treatment of chronic pain.

Palabras clave : cognitive behavioral therapy; emotional regulation; chronic pain; randomized controlled trial.
