Moral and psychological subjects were relevant themes in darwinian formulations. This article analyses the historical relations between those themes as they were presented by the reflections of theology naturalists and scotish moralists and the way Darwin constructed his natural selection theory. This analisys lead us to consider in a complex way the strength of biological explanations of moral behavior and psychology spread nowaday.
