In the present work we discuss proposals of institutional treatment of psychosis and autism based on the psychoanalytic clinic. Initially, we present some controversial points around the status of the Other in psychosis and autism, since the proposed treatments at present orbit around two divergent diagnosis assumptions: in these cases one supposes that there is either absence or excess of the Other. The concept of Other is based on the theoretical contributions of J. Lacan. Subsequently we present some proposals of institutional treatments called Treatment of the Other. Finally, we report on the experience of an institution of treatment in which there are devices created specifically to treat the Other of the psychotic subject.
