Abstract

This study intends to comprehend the contribution of the family's dynamics in the identity construction process of adolescents who have committed illegal acts and are drug users, living in poverty situation and social exclusion. With this goal, it discusses concepts as identity construction, adolescents, family's relationship, drug use and involvement in illegal acts based on the Systemic Theory. It uses the qualitative methodology of research-intervention with ten adolescents under social-educative committals of semi-liberty and their families. As it is part of the results of a doctoral thesis, it describes one of the metaphors used to define the place of the son in the familiar dynamics, called ''The son out of time''. The results aim to the use of drugs and the practice of illegal acts as ways to seek the belonging into the group of pairs, as one of the exits found by the adolescente to deal with the situation, allowing the outcome of the identity crisis.
