Abstract

PROFICE, Christiana Cabicieri  and  PINHEIRO, José Q. Explore with children: Theoretical and methodological issues for researchers. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2009, vol.61, n.3, pp. 11-22. ISSN 1809-5267.

This paper presents and discusses different theoretical and methodological approaches that guide research involving children. First it considers conceptual frameworks from developmental Psychology and then it discusses a research model more compatible with the specificity of children. These two paths are crossed by critical approach, which help us in the contextualization of the theories of child development and social relationships between children and adults. We try to approach biological and socio-cultural trends in child development through the Ecological Psychology in order to promote a participative, holistic and interdisciplinary research with children
