Abstract

LEITE, Maria Edvania  and  MOREIRA, Virgínia. Tellenbach's and Tatossian's contributions for a phenomenological understanding of depression. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2009, vol.61, n.3, pp. 46-56. ISSN 1809-5267.

Nowadays, depression has been studied from very different perspectives and has also been object of concern due to increased repercussion indices of its epidemiological occurrence in the last few years. Understanding this phenomenon by the phenomenological psychopathology point of view has revealed aspects that lead to a further approach to traditional models in psychopathology, which suggests a focus that gives priority to a breakthrough with duality paradigm, given the contact with the experience lived by the depressed patient. This is a view in which man is not perceived as a mere biological being, but as someone who is openly overlapped in his story and culture. This article aims to present Tellenbach's (1969/1999) and Tatossian's (1979/2006) contributions for constructing this idea
