Abstract

COUTINHO, Denise Maria Barreto et al. Teaching Psychoanalysis in Brazilian university: return to Freud's proposal. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2013, vol.65, n.1, pp. 103-120. ISSN 1809-5267.

Psychoanalysis brings a rupture in modern thought while founding a new way of thinking and possibly of doing science. These positions run through teaching, research and transmission, focusing on the production of knowledge carried on in the traditional university. This paper aims to conduct a discussion on teaching psychoanalysis in the university based on literature review, according to the assumptions of Freud. A search was carried out in CAPES thesis database and SciELO and LILACS indexes. Texts were analyzed according to themes. The University is discussed as a possible locus of teaching and research in psychoanalysis, emphasizing the specificity of its transmission model, which considers the subject and his desire as inseparable from the act of teaching and of research.

Keywords : Teaching psychoanalysis; University studies; Transmission; Sigmund Freud.
