Abstract

CRUZ, Alexandre Dutra Gomes da  and  FERRARI, Ilka Franco. Sacrificial practices nowadays: the paradigmatic example of the segregation.. Arq. bras. psicol. [online]. 2013, vol.65, n.2, pp. 165-180. ISSN 1809-5267.

The paper discusses the segregation as a paradigmatic example of sacrificial practice in the current era, marked by the decline of the father and the escalation of a real that erodes the social bond. Freud and Lacan give the north to the developed ideas, but, in some occasions contributions from other fields of science, such as anthropology and philosophy, are considered. Following this path, two modalities of sacrifice were approached. The one that, through the dialectic of desire, allow the strengthening alliance among its practitioners, and the sacrifice that puts into play the non-negotiable field of jouissance, in which the sacrificial offering instigates the ferocity of the obscure god, evil specter of the big Other. It is concluded that, in the current era, ruled by the partnership between capitalism and techno-sciences, sacrificial practices are desacralized, no longer serving to the purposes of fellowship among its members, neither to the desired bond with the Other.
